Five stops from idea to law: introduced, in committee, floor vote, second chamber, signed. Start from a door below — you do not need to know a bill’s number to find it.
The United States Congress
Coming upBills with a scheduled floor action ahead of them.We cannot open this one. We do not hold anything about the future. Every date in our table is a date something already happened: `latest_action_date` is a past tense. Scheduled business lives in the House and Senate floor calendars and in committee notices, and we have not read either. Sorting by most-recent action and calling it 'coming up' would look correct and would be a claim about the future assembled from a record of the past. What would fill it: The House Majority Leader's weekly schedule, the Senate calendar, and committee hearing notices — three sources, none connected.
The Illinois General Assembly
We hold nothing here yet. We hold no Illinois bills. The connector for them exists — Open States, run as `pull state-bills --state Illinois` — and has either never been run against the live database or ran and wrote nothing. This is our gap, not a statement about Springfield: the General Assembly meets and files bills whether or not we have read them.
Bills before the Illinois General AssemblyBills filed in the Illinois House and Senate. We cannot open this one. We hold no Illinois bills — see the body note above. What would fill it: docs/TIER_PULL_RUNBOOK.md, section 3.
The Chicago City Council
We hold nothing here yet. We hold no Council ordinances or resolutions, and unlike Illinois there is no connector written for them. The Council publishes its record through Legistar, which this project has not yet read.
Before the Chicago City CouncilOrdinances and resolutions filed by alderpersons. We cannot open this one. We hold no Council record — see the body note above. What would fill it: A Legistar connector. Nobody has written one.
